Since 2016, one breed only, a handful of litters a year, and a conviction: the Borzoi doesn't need to be made elegant. You simply need to not ruin what it already is.
It started with two silhouettes, in a fashion studio.
Before Maison Borzoï, Camille Voronova ran a textile styling studio in Montreal — ten years studying how fabric falls, the line of a cut, the way a garment moves on a body in motion. The day a friend introduced her to her two Borzoi, she recognized something: the same economy of line she was chasing in couture, except alive and breathing.
Two years later she imported her first female, Zarina, from an established kennel in France. The litter that followed taught her the essential thing: a well-raised Borzoi isn't trained into shape, it's revealed — through socialization, patience, and strict respect for its independent temperament.
Ten years on, the kennel fits inside the walled garden of an old Golden Square Mile home, in Ville-Marie. Two to three litters a year, never more — enough time to know every puppy the way you'd know a made-to-measure piece, not a mass-produced item.
One breed, and nothing else.
The Borzoi — literally "the swift one" in Russian — was reserved for the nobility, who used it to course wolves by sight rather than scent. Hence a silhouette built for pure speed, not endurance.
Silhouette and speed
A deep chest, a back arched over the loin, a sharply tucked waist: an architecture built for top speed, not the marathon. A Borzoi runs in short bursts — then sleeps for hours on end.
Temperament
Independent, reserved with strangers, deeply attached to its own people. This isn't a dog that obeys to please — it's a dog that thinks before complying. A calm, discreet companion at home, not an extrovert jumping on visitors.
Worth knowing
A very strong prey drive: never off-leash near a park or an alley with small animals around. Thin skin, little body fat in reserve — sensitive to extreme cold despite its coat, and requires particular care with anesthesia at the vet.
We deliberately produce no crosses. One breed, known thoroughly, rather than several breeds skimmed — that choice shapes the entire House.
What we screen for, and what we guarantee.
No breeding happens until both parents have completed the screenings recommended for the breed. Certificates are handed to you in person — not summarized, not "available on request".
Heart
Annual echocardiogram: cardiomyopathies occur more often in large sighthounds than in the general dog population.
Hips and elbows
X-rays evaluated by a recognized body — a lean frame doesn't spare the Borzoi from dysplasia.
Genetic panel and anesthesia
A file handed to your veterinarian noting the Borzoi's known sensitivity to certain anesthetics — something any vet unfamiliar with sighthounds needs to know.
A two-year guarantee against serious hereditary conditions, provided in writing. Replacement or refund, your choice.

One piece of advice, even if you don't adopt from us: be wary of a breeder who won't show you the mother or offers to meet in a parking lot. It's the most reliable signal there is.
